An estate agent in Spain sent a video tour of a property to a client’s smartphone after the hopeful buyers had returned to the UK. And what happened? The couple fell in love!
After viewing the virtual tour of the property, David and Amanda Williams from Liverpool decided that this holiday home was the one for them.
After visiting the Costa Blanca, the pair watched the video of the house on messaging app WhatsApp. They loved the property and quickly sent over a deposit to secure the deal. A few weeks later, they flew to Spain and completed the purchase.
The Williams’s long-distance love is a €72,000 townhouse in Guardamar del Segura, a resort between Torrevieja and Alicante, known for its beautiful sandy beaches.
David comments on the experience: “We only went to the Costa Blanca for the first time in February 2014. We loved the place, got to know the different areas and saw a range of properties with our estate agent, HomeEspaña.
“When we were back in Liverpool, our agent stayed in touch, so when he found a property that he knew we would like, he sent us a video of it before it got snapped up, and the rest is history.”
The home is within the El Raso complex and boasts a roof terrace, terrace, off-road parking, and access to a shared swimming pool. With the beach just a 20-minute walk away, it’s no wonder the couple fell in love immediately!
David and Amanda plan to visit the holiday home four to five times per year for family holidays with their two children.
David adds: “When we first visited the Costa Blanca, our agent was thorough in showing us the different areas. When we needed to send money from the UK to pay our deposit, they helped us open a bank account, then assisted us getting our NIE [tax identification number in Spain] when we came back to complete in May. We also used a lawyer suggested by them, who we’re using again to do our Spanish wills.”1
