Mallorca is one of the top destinations searched for during the second quarter (Q2) of 2016 on Sojern, travel’s leading performance marketing engine.

The Global Travel Insights report found that Palma de Mallorca was the third most searched for destination by holidaymakers in Europe in Q2. When asked to predict trends for Q3, the firm noted that Palma de Mallorca is expected to be the leading short haul spot.

With an increasing number of people flocking to Mallorca and the Balearic Islands this year, property sales in the region are also on the up.

The latest data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE) reveals that the Balearics are the property location of choice, with sales up by 39% annually in May 2016. This is the highest growth registered throughout Spain, and is set to continue over the coming months.

Leading Spanish housebuilder Taylor Wimpey España offers a stunning selection of properties in Mallorca, with something to suit the needs of all buyers.

Its most recent addition is the Bahia Sant Pere development. The Mediterranean-inspired residential complex is located in the traditional northeast coastal village of Colonia de Sant Pere – ideal for those looking for a more rural escape for their second home.

The Sales and Marketing Director of Taylor Wimpey España, Marc Pritchard, is delighted that Mallorca has been ranked so highly as a sought after destination and is excited for more people to discover the beauty of the island.

He says: “We have certainly experienced a growing interest in property on Mallorca as it becomes a more prominent must visit destination on the international stage. As popularity for the island continues to grow, we are determined to provide an array of high quality properties in locations that reflect the best of Mallorca’s culture as well as its coastline.”

Less than an hour from Palma’s international airport, and just a short distance from the local fishing port and Mallorca’s golden coastline, Bahia Sant Pere includes two and three-bedroom apartments priced from €192,500 + VAT.

All apartments have two bathrooms, an open-plan kitchen with breakfast bar and the use of a private parking space. Each resident will also have access to the development’s two swimming pools and beautiful communal gardens.

Known for its outstanding natural beauty, the village of Colonia de Sant Pere allows visitors to experience the more rustic side of Mallorca, making it a great location to enjoy the stunning landscape of the mountains of the Peninsula de Llevant Natural Park and the beautiful coast’s white sandy beach of Sa Canova.
